Consider this: there are 24 manufacturers of 9′ concert grands. Most are priced significantly higher than a Steinway piano. Yet, there were 542 concerts performed across the Americas with major orchestras, and 524 of them were played on a Steinway. This left 23 manufacturers fighting for the endorsement of eighteen concerts. The most interesting fact is that not one artist was paid to play a Steinway.
